La Plata City is the capital of Buenos Aires province, the most prominent area of Argentina. Its urban and architectonic features make it a potential “World Cultural Heritage”. La Plata is a paradigm of advanced urban planning from the 19th century.
La Plata is located on the humid pampa, about 60 km. to the Southeast of Buenos Aires City. Its latitude is 34° 55´ south latitude, its longitude is 57° 17´ west.
La Plata covers an area of 940,38 Km2. Its climate is mild, with an annual average temperature of 16,3°C, and annual average rainfalls of 1023 mm.
Visitors can enjoy many historical monuments and sites such as: the Bank of Buenos Aires Province headquarters, the Presidential Palace of the Province, Cathedral Church, Argentine Theatre, Coliseo Podesta Theatre, Curutchet House, Mariani – Teruggi House, Falkland Islands Cultural Center, Meridiano V Neigbourhood, Dardo Rocha Narrow Street, San Benjamín Church, the Provincial Legislature and the Museum of Natural Sciences.
